Can we go to visit Vasota Fort in these days [The monsoon Season].? We are planning to go there tomorrow, it it possible to visit the fort tomorrow.? Want some information about permission to go through jungle.
Where exactly do we go to take the necessary permissions. Also wanted to know if there is any kind of documentation involved to get the permission.

I think the jungle will be closed due to the monsoons. It is closed in monsoons till October end and yes you do need to take permission from the forest office at Bamnoli in Satara.
The reason that it is closed is due to the heavy amount of leeches in the jungle. Leeches can give you nasty bites and they secrete a fluid that makes the bit part numb and hence you risk bleeding without even knowing about it.
Please carry some identity proof along with you. Everyone in your group needs to carry a govt identification proof. The forest officials will take down your details and just check your identity before you venture out for Vasota Trek.
Bamnoli is the base village for Vasota fort.
Please go after October.
